Stream: The Free Label - Songs For Sienna
The titular “Sienna” is both the Toyota Sienna minivan the band started touring in as well as the abstract figure representing the people they’ve loved and lost along the way. The record truly defines this first era of The Free Label’s career. It is a distillation of the bands’ early influences in soul, pop, and especially RnB. The songs are a collection of stories written in the early years of touring as the band learned how to live together, write together, and find the music they could all believe in.
The band’s 2019 single "All Night" propelled them to new heights, enabling them to tour internationally. Since then, they have independently toured Europe, North America, and Australia, garnering fans along the way. Noteworthy festival appearances include Mariposa Folk Festival, Wapiti, and the Calgary Stampede, where they opened for internationally acclaimed artists T-Pain, Aqua, and Lupe Fiasco. While on their 2023 European tour they opened for legendary soul group Incognito and R&B/Jazz virtuoso Mono Neon. In the studio, the band has collaborated with Grammy-nominated artists such as saxophonist Braxton Cook, featured on their 2022 release "Shine," and Grammy-nominated producer Aaron Paris (Drake, Kanye West, Kali Uchis) who composed and recorded strings for their single, "Real Love.”
